Connect your AI assistant to the GEX map
The LiveGexLevels MCP server gives an AI assistant read-only access to the LiveGexLevels GEX map of the S&P 500 family (SPX, XSP, ES, MES, SPY): call wall, put wall, gamma flip, gamma regime and how they change during the session.
Server URLhttps://app.livegexlevels.com/mcp
What your assistant gets
Eight read-only tools. You ask in plain words; the assistant picks the tool it needs.
get_status: whether your connection is active, rate limits, data quality and session phase. The server asks assistants to call it first.
get_gex_levels: the levels top-down, from the call wall and the put wall to the gamma flip and every level in between, each with its relative mass, its mass trend and how many independent markets agree on it.
get_gex_regime: positive or negative dealer gamma, the gamma flip and whether price is far from it, the GEX centre of mass and its 15-minute drift, the call wall, the put wall and how many times the regime flipped today.
get_market_context: previous-day high, low and close, expected-move bands for the day, the week and the month, EMAs and Bollinger bands.
get_volume_profile: option volume per strike, split into calls and puts, and session volume against a typical day.
get_level_changes: what moved since a time you give it, such as regime flips, wall moves, centre-of-mass shifts, new and vanished levels. It is the cheapest call.
explain_level: one level in plain words, by its id.
get_snapshot: everything above in one signed document.
The server also publishes a reading guide for the assistant (lgl://gex/guide) and a prompt, gex_map_briefing, that asks for a neutral, step-by-step description of the map.
Who can use it
The MCP server is included in the LiveGexLevels subscription. There are two ways to connect: sign in with your LiveGexLevels account from the AI app, which is the default, or use an API key for agents that run without a browser.
If you have no subscription yet, the sign-in page takes you through the plan and then back to your AI app. The 3-day free trial needs a card.
All the apps you connect by signing in share one seat, so one of them reads the map at a time. The API key has a seat of its own: at most two agents read at the same time.
A sign-in does not expire during a US cash session. You can disconnect an app at any time from your profile → Plan & Subscription → Connected apps.
From Claude.ai or ChatGPT: add the address, sign in, authorize
1. Add the address shown at the top of this page as a custom connector, in the connector settings of Claude.ai or ChatGPT.
2. Sign in: the app opens a LiveGexLevels page. Sign in or create your account. If you have no subscription yet, start it there and you come back to the same page.
3. Authorize: the page shows the app that asked, the address you will be sent back to and what the app can do: read the levels and the market context, read-only. Choose Authorize and the app is connected.
There is nothing to copy or paste: the app never sees your password, and no key is involved.
Connect Claude Code
Once it is connected, ask Claude Code about the map: the server tells it to check the connection with get_status before reading the levels.
Run this command in a terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose livegexlevels to sign in: your browser opens the same LiveGexLevels page.
claude mcp add --transport http livegexlevels https://app.livegexlevels.com/mcpAgents without a browser: the API key
An agent that runs on a server, or a client that cannot open a sign-in page, connects with an API key. You create it in the app: profile → Plan & Subscription → AI access.
The key is shown only once, so store it like a password. One key serves one connected agent at a time, and you can revoke or replace it from the same card.
Send it as an Authorization: Bearer header. For Claude Code, with your key in place of <key>:
claude mcp add --transport http livegexlevels https://app.livegexlevels.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <key>"Connect Cursor
With an API key, add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json inside a project, with your key in place of <key>:
{
"mcpServers": {
"livegexlevels": {
"url": "https://app.livegexlevels.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer <key>"
}
}
}
}Connect VS Code
With an API key, add the server to .vscode/mcp.json, with your key in place of <key>:
{
"servers": {
"livegexlevels": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.livegexlevels.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer <key>"
}
}
}
}Other MCP clients
Other AI apps that support MCP sign-in can connect the same way; otherwise use an API key, sent as an Authorization: Bearer header.
Without a sign-in or a key, the server asks the client to sign in before it returns any data.
Things to ask
“Where are today’s call wall and put wall on SPX?”
“Is the market in positive or negative gamma, and how far is price from the gamma flip?”
“What changed in the GEX map in the last 30 minutes?”
“List the GEX levels in ES points, with how many markets agree on each one.”
“Which levels sit near the edge of today’s expected move?”
What it is not
The connector is market information for your own analysis. It is not a price feed: the one price it carries is US500, a synthetic reference, never an SPX, ES or SPY quote. It sends no orders and makes no trade recommendations, and every tool description says it is not trading advice.
The map is updated within seconds during the US cash session; outside it the tools return the last session’s closing map. Ask your assistant to describe the map, not to trade on it: entries, exits, size and risk are your decisions.
Questions and answers
Is the LiveGexLevels MCP server free?
No. It is included in the LiveGexLevels subscription: you connect by signing in with your account, or with a key created from it.
Which AI assistants work with it?
Claude.ai, ChatGPT and Claude Code connect by signing in, as can other AI apps that support MCP sign-in. Cursor, VS Code and any MCP client that connects over Streamable HTTP can use an API key.
Can my assistant place trades through LiveGexLevels?
No. All eight tools are read-only, and LiveGexLevels never sends orders to a broker.
How often should an agent poll?
Every 15 to 30 seconds with get_level_changes, passing the as_of of its previous answer. The map is updated within seconds during the cash session; get_status shows your rate limits.
Will a connection drop in the middle of a session?
A sign-in never expires during a US cash session. It ends when you disconnect the app from your profile, change your password or close your account.
Can I share my key or the data?
No. A sign-in and a key belong to one account and each serves one connected agent at a time, and the data licence does not allow the levels to be redistributed.
