SPX GEX levels
SPX GEX levels are the prices, in S&P 500 index points, where the estimated gamma exposure of S&P 500 options concentrates: the call wall, the put wall, the gamma flip and the levels between them.
What they mean for SPX
SPX options list expirations for every trading day, so dealer hedging around their strikes can matter within the session, especially for 0DTE traders. GEX levels mark where that hedging is estimated to concentrate: references to watch for a reaction, not guaranteed support or resistance.
One S&P 500 map, in SPX points
LiveGexLevels does not build a separate map for each ticker. It combines the options of the whole S&P 500 family, index (SPX and XSP), ETF (SPY) and futures (ES and MES), into one map, and keeps it in SPX points. For XSP, the mini index, the same map is expressed in XSP points.
Each GEX level says how many of the three markets agree on its price.
No SPX quote
LiveGexLevels publishes no SPX quote. The one price on the map is US500, a synthetic reference for the S&P 500, not the official index value. Check the price of what you trade with your broker.
Where to see the map
In the app, the levels are drawn on the US500 chart and updated within seconds during the US cash session; outside it you see the last session’s closing map. Through the MCP server, an AI assistant calls get_gex_levels or get_gex_regime, and SPX points are the default.
Questions and answers
Are SPX GEX levels computed from SPX options only?
No. They come from one map of the S&P 500 family, in which SPX and XSP options are the index market alongside SPY and ES options. n_markets says how many of the three agree on each level.
Does LiveGexLevels show the SPX price?
No. It carries no third-party quotes. US500 is a synthetic reference; take the SPX price from your broker.
Can I get the same levels for XSP?
Yes. The same map is expressed in XSP points, and an MCP client can ask for it in the XSP space.
